SEO or Search engine optimization.

So much is written about Search Engine optimization (SEO) I just do not know what to believe anymore, I have spent hours sorry I mean wasted hours reading one persons theory only to be shot down when I click another link to another SEO Website and it sort of contradicts what I have just read, or there are loads of links all to the similar places and sometimes even to each other. I have also noticed that most of these websites are for Google Adsense (Google Adverts that get clicked to create money) also their pages are just full of various information to keep people on their site and hopefully for them to end up clicking onto an advert where upon the website owner gets paid. A bit like I am doing now trying to keep your interest but I am sorry there is not any adverts.

I sort of go along with the theory that SEO's (Search Engine Optimizers) are not needed because you can do it yourself, but again who do you believe. Anyway you (the customer) are better of doing what you are best at, like running your company.

But I "did it myself" because I got fed up with phone calls and reps saying that they could SEO my website and get me to the top of Google for £10,000 or more. I also do not see how they can have hundreds of customers because I would only take on a max of 15 to 20 customers per employee so as to give each customer 2 or 3 hours a week on their websites updating and SEO.  Initially a lot more time would be spent on the website maintenance etc.

I am now looking for 5 to 10 customers as I have semi retired, but can never see myself fully retiring so I need to keep myself busy with a few penny's coming in. I would prefer customer in and around Norwich (uk). I also believe that some types of business do not work that well on the web so any enquiry I get I will give a no obligation 2 to 3 hour free consultation and advice. I will also try not to work for the same type of customer ie say 2 sign writers (as in competitors) but I will leave this this website up and running after I have my quota of customers as I have trained a few people over the years and some said they might also like  some freelance work.

I find that how ever good I do my job for the customer there still comes a time to part company. As they grow they tend to employ full time IT staff, so another reason I will leave this website running.
I would never tie a customer down to any contract that cannot be terminated.

All I know is that using the correct and suitable key search words and phrases in a clean well written and correctly put together website, it should perform well in the hands of the search engines.
